Joseph rose to power as second-in-command to Pharaoh

“Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, ‘Since God has made all this known to you, there is no one so discerning and wise as you. You shall be in charge of my palace, and all my people are to submit to your orders. Only with respect to the throne will I be greater than you.’ ” – Genesis 41:39-40

Questions

7. How did Joseph and Pharaoh respond to God’s revelation of a coming crisis in Egypt’s future? Pharaoh was looking for someone to be in charge of the land to prepare of the years of famine. The Pharaoh picked Joseph and made him be in charge of everything under him.

8. God prepared Joseph for his rise to this important position. What do you learn from this? It is all in God’s time. What we are going through are also God’s working in us.

9. How has God led you to take practical steps and make wise decisions when faced with a challenge? My current challenges had made me no choice, and the only option I have is God.

10. How can you see God’s goodness and wisdom at work in your current circumstances, whether wonderful or difficult? I’m still waiting on God’s deliverance. I hope that God would bless me like how he has been so kind to these people we have studied in Genesis, Abraham, Isaac, and Joseph.
