Summary of Genesis 13:14-18
After Lot had parted from him, God spoke to Abram to remind him of the promises before I will make you into a great nation. Even though Lot has chosen the “good land”, God promised that he and his descendants would acquire all the land.
Questions
What emotional and physical losses did Abram experience because of his choice? Abram might feel that he lost out, because Lot has chosen the better land that is well watered.
What do God’s responses to Abram reaffirm about His character? God spoke to Abram to remind him that God will provide and give him all the land, including those that Lot has chosen.
List promises in God’s Word to Christians who generously give up much for Christ’s sake? Matthew 5:11-12, Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
How did Abram respond in faith? He pitched his tents and built an altar to the Lord.
