Jacob stopped at night on his journey to Paddan Aram

“Your descendants will be like the dust of the earth, and you will spread out to the west and to the east, to the north and to the south. All peoples on earth will be blessed through you and your offspring.” – Genesis 28:14

Summary of Genesis 28:10-11

Jacob left Beersheba and set out for Harran. When he reached a certain place, he stopped for the night because the sun had set. Taking one of the stones there, he put it under his head and lay down to sleep.

7. What kinds of discomfort, loneliness or loss did Jacob face in his travel to Paddan Aram? It was a very long journey, and he was very tired.

8. a. When has God taken you out of your comfort zone or to obedience that seemed costly? My career, one after another, has become more and more challenging. More and more uncertainly. Stressful and tough.

b. What does pain in the process of spiritual growth reveal about the redemptive power of God? We realized that we need God and hoping for God’s deliverance.
